We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
Hello! My name is Katie-Rose, daughter of God and FOCUS missionary.
God has called me by name to serve college students at McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana. You’ll typically find me with a cup of black coffee and a good book at Great Harvest, or hanging out with Jesus in the chapel, or cooking a meal for my friends. Jesus Christ is my number one, so if you want to get to know me, you’ll probably want to get to know Him, too! He has given me the greatest joy. Come find me, and I’d love to share that same joy with you. 🙂
We are all pilgrims on a journey to the Lord; little by little, we will arrive!
This phrase has shaped my own prayer and relationship with the Lord, as well as how I think about the mission the Lord has sent me on. We are all on some sort of journey; my journey has taken me to college students, leading them towards Christ with the joy of the Gospel, the Good News of His Love and Mercy. God came among His beloved Creation as the person of Jesus Christ so that we might be able to relate to our Divine Creator. He spent time sharing the message of the kingdom with everyone he met, but specifically invested in a few friends and camped out with them for three years. This intentional and deeply personal method of bringing souls closer to Himself is the “little by little” method I have taken on in being a missionary. I am constantly amazed by the work He is doing in souls I have encountered and who join me on this pilgrimage to the Lord.
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you, and I will schedule an appointment. I’d be honored for you to join me on this pilgrimage to the Lord.

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
