We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
Hey! My name’s Ryan. I’m a FOCUS missionary.
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1
God has sent me to serve the students at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. You’ll typically find me hanging out at the Johnson Center, St. Robert Bellarmine’s Chapel, or taking any opportunity I have to be outside with students. I have a pretty cool story about how Jesus has changed my life — I think you should hear it sometime! Come find me and I’d love to share it with you. 🙂
Attending college at CU Boulder, I wasn’t really sure who Jesus and His Church was. I didn’t feel particularly convicted that I needed Him and I thought I could manage on my own. That all changed with a simple invitation; to go to a Catholic conference called SEEK in 2017. There, I was exposed to the power of confession and Jesus in the Eucharist. I was blown away by the conviction and joy that so many people had, and I learned why they had it: Jesus. As a missionary, I desire others to encounter the Lord as powerfully as I did and to live life fully, through the mass, His word, and through prayer.
By answering God’s call to join FOCUS, I’ve made the decision to rely on spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me with Jesus’ Great Commission. I’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I’d be honored to share this mission with you.
We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
