God has called me to serve as a first-year missionary at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC!

I am so excited to get to campus and see how God plans to change my life and those of the students I will be serving!

College students are constantly being asked to prepare for their future in the “real world”, but no one is preparing them for their futures in eternity with our Lord. As missionaries serving on college campuses, we strive to do exactly that! College is one of the most decisive times in a young adult’s life, and it when they make the decision to continue to grow deeper with the Lord or turn away from all the great blessings He has in store for them.

The most significant part of my own faith formation took place in college. Because of this, I have seen firsthand the large role that sharing in faith and fellowship with friends plays in not just the college experience but in the deepening of a relationship with Christ. During my junior and senior years at the University of South Carolina, I was able to enter not only into formation with my missionaries but into very intentional friendships as well. They sought to show me how deeply loved I was by the Lord by loving me themselves. I was very blessed to serve alongside them my senior year as a FOCUS student leader and my missionary, Mallory Mikolajczyk, pushed me to apply to be a missionary my last semester. Without her invitation and love, I would not be where I am today, able to go out as spread that love to others who, like us all, so desperately need it. During my process of applying to FOCUS, I was really struggling with how to articulate my “why” for applying. I knew I was called but I couldn’t quite form the words to explain it. In December, while on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land, I got the chance to speak with students from Bethlehem University about their lives and how they interact with people of other faiths. It was during these conversations that I realized there are so many students who know about the Bible but have not had the fullness of the Gospel shared with them. It got me thinking of how many students I knew and were in classes with, that grew up Christian or at least knew stories from the Bible, but never had anyone show them how important these “stories” were. How my own faith upbringing had not taught me nearly any of these truths that are so crucial to obtaining eternal life with Our Father. It was then that I knew that my calling was to bring this Gospel to those who needed it most, those who are right beside me.

I am so grateful for the chance to serve alongside such an amazing team, and am very hopeful for God’s plan for this next year!

As missionaries, we strive to be as available to the souls we serve as possible. Because of this, I rely on the generosity of those who support me financially on mission. The selfless gifts of each of my mission partners help meet not only my basic needs but also the needs of my students. I am able to live in community with them and provide resources for them to grow even deeper in their relationships with Christ; resources such as Bibles, Catechisms, and scholarships to retreats, mission trips, and conferences.
