I currently serve as a missionary for the MPD department (Mission Partner Development) as a Senior MPD Specialist in my tenth year with FOCUS. As a department we get to help FOCUS grow and prosper by mobilizing our missionaries for the New Evangelization by laying a foundation of excellence in personal support raising! We put on MPD training, coaching, and resource development for all FOCUS staff to make this mission work possible.  

A way to understand our work at the DSC (Denver Support Center – FOCUS headquarters) is to compare it to how NASA operates when sending shuttle on a mission to space. In order to send a team of astronauts into space it takes hundreds on the ground to make the mission possible and successful. 

In the same way it takes behind the scenes work to be able to launch over 600 missionaries onto over 126 campuses that FOCUS is currently serving on. 

During my time in undergrad at Colorado State University I was introduced to a relationship with Jesus Christ that not only changed my life but showed me the purpose of why God created me with the help of FOCUS and other campus outreach opportunities. 

It was after that experience that I was able to hear God’s call for me to serve college students after graduating with a degree in Landscape Architecture. I served my first two years as a FOCUS missionary at the University of California, Berkeley when FOCUS was first expanded to California. I ve learned so much and I m even more convicted than ever of the importance of being apart of the New Evangelization in world that is so broken and hurting. There are so many souls thirsting for more than what our society promises to attain happiness and this organization is there to support, build, and grow the faith journeys of many. 

This is what led to my desire to continue serving as a missionary with FOCUS and to invest more of myself on a national level after I got married to my husband Peter in 2015 and left campus. We now have three incredible kids, two daughters named Evelyn (June 2016) and Malia (February 2018) and a son named Samuel (October 2019). 

Because of caring and passionate people like YOU, I was able to answer the call to become a missionary and continue to serve this vital mission. 

It has been a gift to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners like you and I’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me.
